Privacy

Nothing is measured before you answer the consent request, and nothing at all if you decline. ChocolateHQ has no accounts, logins or contact forms, and shows no advertising.

If you accept, Google Analytics counts page views using the two cookies described on the cookies page. IP anonymisation is on, and Google signals and advertising personalisation are off.

If you accept, page views are also counted by HEKNO Analytics, a measurement service run by HEKNO Ltd, which operates this site. It receives the path of the page without any query string, the kind of page it is, the page’s language, and a random identifier held only in memory until the page is closed or reloaded. It sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser, and keeps no IP address and no browser user-agent with the page view. It cannot recognise you on a later visit.

Nothing you type is sent. Search terms, tool inputs and tasting notes stay in your browser. The content security policy names the hosts involved and the browser refuses everything else, so no advertising network, tracking pixel, font service or embedded video can load.

Any website receives your IP address and browser user-agent as an unavoidable part of serving a page, and the hosting provider may retain those in operational logs. That is infrastructure rather than a choice this site makes, and nothing is done with them here.

If you set a unit preference — Celsius or Fahrenheit, grams or ounces — it is stored in your own browser’s local storage and never transmitted anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes it. It is not a cookie and it does not identify you.

Tool inputs are not stored at all. The calculators run entirely in your browser and send nothing.

Your answer is kept in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it, and you will be asked again on your next visit.

HEKNO Ltd is the data controller. HEKNO Ltd, registered in Scotland under company number SC895711. Registered office: Borthwick Farm Cottage, Gorebridge, EH23 4QZ, United Kingdom.
